Stranger Things

The link above is a BuzzFeed video of three young actors from the hit Netflix series, Stranger Things. I chose this video because I absolutely love the show and it's premise. It's based in the 80's in a small town called Hawkins, Indiana. A young boy goes missing and a lot of strange things start happening within the town. This video is a cool because it shows the actors engaging with old toys/ candies from the 80's and it shows them outside of their character. I would recommend this show to everyone. It's only 8 episodes long, so good for a quick binge watch. Can't wait for the next season to come out in 2017!

  1. I am so glad someone posted about this Netflix series because I absolutely love it too. I would also recommend it to anyone who reads this. 2. Like you, I am a huge fan of Stranger Things! I think that the best aspect of this video is that three different well-known social media platforms have converged to create one great video: BuzzFeed, YouTube, and Netflix. Although Stranger Things does not air on TV and is exclusive to Netflix, it is a quite popular show. It is interesting to see the actors as themselves rather than the character they play, and with BuzzFeed's help, we are able to see them interact with each other through YouTube's services.

  3. This is by far my favourite series right now on Netflix and one that i would strongly recommend! What engages me most about this series is how it is set in the 80's. It reminds me a lot of older movies like the Goonies, based on the younger children being the main characters, aiming to solve the mystery of their missing friend, or in the case of the Goonies finding the hidden treasure. A lot of Netflix series are over looked being that they are not talked up about enough, since they do not air on TV. Stranger things has gotten a lot attention in the media, and i think that is largely due to the actors\actresses in the series and how they interact. In addition, also seeing these characters pop up a lot on social media websites makes people more curious about the show and inticies them more to watch. Seeing videos like this, and even that video with the stranger things cast rapping with Jimmy Fallon really makes you love the characters even. I could not be more excited for season 2!

  4. I watched the first episode just over a month ago and wasn't overly impressed. I think it has such unique characters and plot. However, over the past few weeks i've seen so many posts on social media about how incredible the series is - mainly friends conversing over Facebook and Instagram memes. Your blog post and all the other hype about Stranger Things has inspired me to pick it up and finish the series to see what its all about. In fact, I think that's how i'll be spending the rest of my night...

  5. I loved this series as well! It is also so interesting to see just how how popular Netflix and the Netflix created shows have become! This and other Netflix originals such as Orange is the New Black have been huge hits. The ability to binge watch every episode in a series has also made the television viewing experience even better for me personally. I agree with the comments above that part the of Stranger Things success has a lot to do with its social media response. People are loving the show and the cast in it and are not able to stop talking about it!

  6. I absolutely loved this series! Honestly before I watched it I was not sure if this kind of show would catch my attention but I am so glad that it did. It was very suspenseful and the actors in it are all unbelievably amazing. They all played their roles very well. I am very excited to see what they are going to do in season two!
